Local Organising Committe (LOC) has negotiated for special rates in the hotels, as mentioned in the table below, for accommodation of symposium delegates. November-December being the tourist season in Goa, LOC advice symposium delegates to book accommodation well in advance. The conference special rates are valid till September 30, 2015 and the rooms are available on first come first serve basis. Delegates are requested to directly contact the hotel management and book their accommodation.
These five hotels have offered special rates for the 'NIO Symposium' period [(29th November 2015 (arrivals) and 5th December 2015 (departures)]. Those who wish to stay longer (before or after the event) than the Symposium period are advised to check with the Hotels. Please note that those who wish to stay longer should inform the organizers of the exact period of visit to India and the places they plan to visit (other than Goa) besides participating in the Indian Ocean Symposium. They should furnish this information along with their passport details to help organizers obtain necessary clearances.
The participants are advised to make reservations with the Hotels through email correspondence or online services. It is important to refer to 'NIO Symposium' while making the reservations to enable the Hotels honour the participants with the special rates offered. The Symposium Organizers are only a facilitator. The reservations and mode of payments are to be agreed between the customer and the Hotel only, in which the Organizers cannot take any responsibility.
The listed Hotels have been requested to hold the rooms and honour the special rates upto 30th September 2015 for the 'NIO Symposium' purpose. Therefore, it is advised that the participants make their confirmed reservations directly with the Hotels at the earliest or before 30th September 2015.
If the delegate wants to cancel the confirmed booking, he/she can directly contact the hotel and the cancellation charges are applicable as per the respective policy of the above hotels.
In addition to the hotels listed here, budget accommodation is available on twin sharing basis only for Indian students/research fellows at CSIR Science Centre, Dona Paula-403004,Goa. Student delegates interested in accommodation at CSIR Science Centre should send an e-mail to dileep@nio.org with subject line “Request for Indian Student Accommodation- Registration ID:_______________________".
For the students for whom the IO50-NIO Symposium confirmed accommodation booking and in unavoidable circumstances, if the student can not able to participate, the cancellation request invariably sent by e-mail to dileep@nio.org with subject line “Request for cancellation of Indian Student Accommodation - Registration ID:_______________________”.
There are many more luxury and budget hotels available within 10 km radius of the conference venue. However, transportation will not be provided by the LOC for the delegates staying in these hotels. The delegates are requested to make their own arrangements for the transport from the hotel to venue and back. Interested delegates may visit the website of the concerned hotel and book their accommodation accordingly.
